What is Cornwall Crimebeat?

Cornwall Crimebeat is the High Sheriff's initiative aimed at encouraging young people to develop crime prevention and community safety initiatives, as well as becoming valued and respected members of their community.

How does Cornwall Crimebeat work?

Cornwall Crimebeat has been set up, with the aid of many of Cornwall's top agencies, to encourage youth projects which combat crime and to create a better infrastructure for early crime prevention.

How is Cornwall Crimebeat Funded?

Funds are raised with help from charitable foundations for every viable youth project and sponsorship will be sought from local businesses to support Cornwall Crimebeat schemes.

Who Benefits?

Everyone - the young by creating their own service to the community and others by being an important part of a practical crime prevention scheme, thus ensuring safer places to live and work in.

Are There Other Rewards?

Yes - the opportunity for youth projects, however small, to win prizes and to be put forward for a National Crimebeat Award, plus rewards for those helping with crime prevention.
